The British and Irish Association for Holocaust Studies (BIAHS) aims to provide an inclusive, supportive network for academics, educators and professionals working in the fields of Holocaust Studies and Holocaust education. Members of the public with an interest in this area are also welcome to apply for membership. With this in mind, by joining the Association, members agree to the following terms:
- Promotion of Holocaust denial or distortion shall not be tolerated and will result in immediate termination of membership.
- Language discriminating on the basis of protected or personal characteristics shall not be tolerated and may result in termination of membership.
- Academic debate and discussion are welcomed. All such communication and engagement with both members of the Board and fellow members – whether in person, via email or on social media – shall be conducted in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Salaried members agree to an annual membership fee of £25.00. Non-salaried members are exempt from this fee.
Members may also wish to consider including a warning regarding potentially distressing content in presentations and/or material shared online.
